The fun never stops.

U–Pick season at Lookout Farm means more than apple picking alone. There’s a whole day’s worth of activities sure to entertain visitors of all ages. Ride our train through our orchards, spend the afternoon in our new children’s play area, enjoy a pony ride (or two!), run through our burlap maze or take a spin on our “Caterpillar” ride. And last but not least, meet and learn about our variety of animals, and interact up close and personal at our two petting zoos. You can read more about each exciting activity below.

Pony Rides

It’s not as if U–Pick season weren’t enough fun on its own. But throw in some pony rides, and the fun is over–the–top! And it’s the ideal way to introduce your little ones to horseback riding. All Lookout Farm ponies are well–maintained and hand–lead. This special treat is perfect for children ages 3–10 years.

Each ride takes about 5 minutes, and young children may need an adult to walk alongside them. Pony rides are held at Children’s Play Area near concessions on Saturdays and Sundays during our Fall U–Pick season beginning September 1 through the end of October.

Burlap Maze

Can you find your way through our handmade burlap maze? This challenging attraction is sure to be a hit, and your friends and family can watch from atop the Hay Play Pyramid to see who’s winning the race. First one to the other side buys the gelato!

Caterpillar Rides

Bees aren’t the only bugs drawing crowds at Lookout Farm. Let the kids take a spin on the Caterpillar Ride, a rubber–tire train that takes you along a scenic path around the Children’s Play Area. This is perfect for 3–10 year–olds. Each ride takes about 5 minutes, and they’re held at the children’s play area daily (except for the occasional Wednesdays). * Sorry, no adults on the children’s rides.

Hay Pyramid

Hay is for horses. But this hay is for anyone who loves to climb! This safe play area, made out of 400 hay bales, is located near the petting zoo, pony rides, and bee observatory, and is open during our Fall U-Pick season beginning September 1 through the end of October.  To make it even more fun this year, you can watch those making their way through the new burlap maze from the tip top of the pyramid!

Train Rides

Our trains transport happy customers through our acres and acres of fruit daily during U–Pick season, and on the weekends beginning in the late spring. These unique, environmentally friendly rubber–tire trains were imported directly from a company in Italy. Trains board at the U–Pick station, and our conductors announce the different stops and what’s pickin’. You can get on and off as often as you’d like; see our map for the train route.

Bee Observatory

What’s all the buzz about? These guys are busy in here! In our entertaining and educational bee observatory, you can get close to thousands of live honeybees. You can even get close enough to the hives (behind glass of course) to spot the queen bee! You’ll watch the bees as they create our farms supply of honey and learn how they help to pollinate our farmland. The bee observatory is located at the back of the Children’s Play Area and is open during the summer and fall season.

Children’s Play Area

Tag — you’re it! From the slide to the seesaw sheep to the climbing area dubbed the “Wiggley Worm,” there are hours of fun at to be had on this playground for the kids. Stop by the concession area to grab a snack, then enjoy a little relaxation on one of our cozy picnic benches while the children have the time of their lives.

The Petting Zoo

What’s better than a petting zoo? Two petting zoos! Our large petting zoo is located by the children’s play area and is open whenever our trains are running. Our smaller petting zoo is located behind the Farm Market parking lot and is open daily. Our animals are all very friendly and love to interact with children. Kids (and adults) of all ages will enjoy spending time here! Meet and pet our rabbits, sheep, goats, and even our pot–bellied pigs.
